***Translated with Google translate*** Only first paragraph of the article.

“When it was first found in the excavations diatreta, experts were amazed. What could our ancestors as early as Roman times, several engravers succeeded in the second half of last century. As of today without these engravings engraving machines, diamond discs, and other paraphernalia were able to produce? We do not know. But we are extremely proud that you can manufacture the diatrety Fler the live show. And show it to you - who else than Diatreta!”

Výstava/Exhibition "Všimnutí" (More of the glass engraving work from the talented and gorgeous Pavlína Čambalová)

All images are © to Ms. Čambalová and have been used with her permission. Photo #1 (top and one of my favourites! is titled Sedící, horský křišťál (Sitting, Rock Crystal)

Here is one of my favourite engravers. I appreciate the beautiful details and delicate touch of Ms. Čambalová. Her work is soft, beautiful and radiant as if it has been laced with divinity... Perhaps the divinity of her hands.

You can see more of her work on her web site :

Thank you so much for allowing me to share with our viewers your wonderful work.

The soft kisses of Japan’s Ami Kitsuda

From Ami:

"The technique of two works(My Parasol, and Kawasemi) is Stipple engraving.
The technique of the third work(Flower Festival) is Stipple and Line engraving.
The technique of the fourth work(a rose) is Line engraving."

All images are © to Ami Kitsuda and I am honored to have been given her permission to use them.Thank you!

Sometimes… I find hard to express my emotions when I find my eyes staring at the beauty and delicacy of art. I found Ami Kitsuda’s work a few months ago and wrote her to see if she would allow me to use her work on this blog… and she agreed and for that I thank her.
When I see herwork, I am taken into a trance of beauty and imagination. I feel as if her hands; softly and gently kiss the beautiful glass allowing it to live and breath.

She has been an Associate Fellow of the Guild of Glass Engravers since 2008.
August, 2008 she published a book about the technique of stipple engraving and line engraving with a Japanese publishing company. (http://book.bijutsu.co.jp)

Here is a link of the book in the guild of glass engravers web site:

The Mastery of Peter Dreiser

All photos are © to blackcountryhistory.org

When I started learning to engrave and about the subject someone gave me the book “Techniques of glass engraving” by Peter Dreiser and Jonathan Matcham; thus starting a love affair between the copper wheel glass engraving and I. Engraving in my eyes is like sculpting the piece of glass. Like giving it life, something soft and sensual between the engraving and that piece of clear material begging to be given life. There are not many “photos” of Mr. Dreiser’s work on line, however when I find one I save the link and photo and ask permission to use it. Here you have the web-site to get my information on these photos:

I hope you enjoy viewing these beautiful piece of work as I have.

A gift from a dear friend

This was a beautiful gift sent to me by Zoltan from Hungary. He is such an amazing friend and such a talented engraver. I LOVE the whole thing, he has cut the plate around it and polished. The wings are beautiful and the polishing is absolutely delicate and so beautiful to look at. I will ask permission from Mr. Viczan to upload some more of his photos - Enjoy!
