My latest lil' project

I found a piece of broken glass while walking my dogs :) and this is what came up. It is not awesome... But as always, I learnt so much with every lil' piece you make.

Foredom : K.1070 High Speed Rotary Micromotor

I just got this a couple of weeks ago and just tried it for the first time and I LOVED IT! If you can get your hands on a micromotor DO IT! Such a nice lil machine. Here is a vid:

I haven't played with it as much as I would love to.... but I will this week (I have been quite busy with my calligraphy) Anyway, if you are interested in getting one of these babies you can find them here:

Another engraving by yours truly

Here is my latest, I learnt so much with the last one I did and followed the advise of James Riser and used lower speed where I needed to, thus making the edges a little more clean. I was pretty pleased.... Though I still have lots to learn.

I did this using the Proxxon Drill, diamond burrs and just a bit of stone burrs, very light polishing at the bottom.

Feel free to post a comment if you have any questions. I will be posting some information about the tools I used.

An engraving by: Yours truly

So... I decided to share one of my engravings =) This is a Mayan symbol engraved on an ashtray. It is not perfect... but I have learnt to appreciate the imperfections of my work... otherwise we stop learning.

Lets do a little sketching.... Shall we?

Here is a photo, for those of you who like to engrave roses. I found this photo on line, flipped it ( I normally engrave intaglio so my photos have to be the opposite way when I trace them on to the glass) and then sketched it on my iPhone with an app called "sketch me" (which we have talked about before. Here is the info about this app on the blog:

Well here is the photo! I hope you like it =)

Also want to say "thank you" to the visitors from France, Germany, Malta, Spain, Russia and so many other countries! I really appreciate it =) Thank you all
