More of the strikingly beautiful work from the hand of Wendy Johnston Brodd.
All images are © to Wendy Johnston Brood and have been used with her permission.
The truth is, that Wendy's work is one of my favourite if not... the FAVOURITE when it comes to drill engraving and polishing. Wendy's work is breathtaking both in the photos and in the flesh. The polishing and detail she achieves on the glass is magnificent. I still get the same feeling when I see her work I got the very first time I saw a little turtle she engraved. LOVE IT! Like it... and share it! She is AMAZING and such an amazing friend of mine =) and one of my greatest inspirations =)

Book review (kind of): Pattern Sheets Hand Glass Engraving Swiss Technique [Loose Leaf]
All images are © to T.Bolliger 1984
I got these as a gift lat week and liked them. Though I tend to like the intaglio engraving more, this is a good way to get an idea of shading and light and how to acquire that look when doing surface engraving.
These sheets have absolutely no instructions, there are just lose sheets for you to use. The number of sheets is 11. Here is an amazon.com link if you are interested in getting it:
http://www.amazon.com/Pattern-Sheets-Glass-Engraving-Technique/dp/B005UGXR5Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1336663756&sr=8-1
I got # TB-P2 (which has 11 sheets shown in the link above and of course I am giving you some large images here so you can appreciate them)

The soft kisses of Japan’s Ami Kitsuda
From Ami:
"The technique of two works(My Parasol, and Kawasemi) is Stipple engraving.
The technique of the third work(Flower Festival) is Stipple and Line engraving.
The technique of the fourth work(a rose) is Line engraving."
All images are © to Ami Kitsuda and I am honored to have been given her permission to use them.Thank you!
Sometimes… I find hard to express my emotions when I find my eyes staring at the beauty and delicacy of art. I found Ami Kitsuda’s work a few months ago and wrote her to see if she would allow me to use her work on this blog… and she agreed and for that I thank her.
When I see herwork, I am taken into a trance of beauty and imagination. I feel as if her hands; softly and gently kiss the beautiful glass allowing it to live and breath.
She has been an Associate Fellow of the Guild of Glass Engravers since 2008.
August, 2008 she published a book about the technique of stipple engraving and line engraving with a Japanese publishing company. (http://book.bijutsu.co.jp)
