The Wife of Llew (The beautiful glass engraving by the talented Susan Burne)

All photos are © to Mrs. Burne and have been used with her permission.

Such a beautiful piece and so well crafted. The images seem to come alive when you look at the beautiful piece of art. Sue explains of the vase:

"In the legend Blodeuwedd is created for Llew by his magician uncle but is unfaithful to her husband and as punishment is turned into an owl".

I wanted to share this with you all today. I have known Sue for a few years... and she is such a sweet, talented and kind woman. She recently shared her work with us and I asked if I could share it on my this blog with you all. Sue is a drill engraver who started her work with glass back in 2001. She is an associate fellow of the Guild of Glass Engravers and a craft member of the Somerset Guild of Craftsmen. To see more of Sue's work visit her web site:

The Magnificent touch, world and creations.... the glass engraving of Jiří Tesař (Velkolepý dotek, svět a výtvory ....rytí skla Jiří Tesař)

(click on video below)

All images are © to Jiří Tesař and have been used with his kind permission.

I am very honored to have been given permission by such wonderful artist to feature his work and share it with you all. I thank Jiří from the bottom of my heart.

I saw Jiří’s work a few weeks ago and was so taken by it; it made me cry of joy. Seeing the beautiful soft gentle touch he uses to create his pieces was simply an out of this world experience. Reminded me of the softness and beauty used by the renaissance master Caravaggio... Please visit his web site to see some more of his work:

“When it was first found in the excavations diatreta, experts were amazed. What could our ancestors as early as Roman times, several engravers succeeded in the second half of last century. As of today without these engravings engraving machines, diamond discs, and other paraphernalia were able to produce? We do not know. But we are extremely proud that you can manufacture the diatrety Fler the live show. And show it to you - who else than Diatreta!”

Výstava/Exhibition "Všimnutí" (More of the glass engraving work from the talented and gorgeous Pavlína Čambalová)

All images are © to Ms. Čambalová and have been used with her permission. Photo #1 (top and one of my favourites! is titled Sedící, horský křišťál (Sitting, Rock Crystal)

Here is one of my favourite engravers. I appreciate the beautiful details and delicate touch of Ms. Čambalová. Her work is soft, beautiful and radiant as if it has been laced with divinity... Perhaps the divinity of her hands.

You can see more of her work on her web site :

Thank you so much for allowing me to share with our viewers your wonderful work.

Do any of the readers here know anything about this Glass Engraving Lathe?

A member of the blog bought this glass engraving lathe and all he knows is "it came from Germany. The spindle on it is about 1 1/2" in diameter."

If you have (or think you know anything) about this lathe, post it on the comments and perhaps we can all learn a bit in the process =) Thank you all!
